Today's holiday is Shavuot!

Shavuot, the feast of weeks, commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the entire nation of Israel assembled at Mount Sinai. You have now completed counting the Omer, 50 days since the Passover. Not only did God give the law, but it is also harvest time for wheat. This holiday is also known as Pentecost which means "fiftieth day"

Shavuot is also the day an individual can bring Bikkurim or first fruit offerings to the temple. they include wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and dates.

Modern traditions include, reading poetry, consuming dairy products, reading the book of Ruth, decorating the home with plants, and all night Torah study. GOOD TIMES!

Shavuot is a great time to celebrate God's provision and all the ways He has sustained the Jewish people throughout history. How are you celebrating God's provision?
